Mesh Skull Cap w/Flower

This hat had a lot of trial and error. The first one I made was way to big! It was supposed to fit a two year old little girl, but it was too big for me! The next one was my size. The next one I used a different yarn and a smaller hook and it fit me. So the next one I made came out like this! Finally! It fits my two year old boy perfectly! He loves to model for me. LOL These will be great pictures to show his future girl friends!!! Can't wait for that. I used Caron Simply soft in autumn red for the hat and an off white for the flower. Here is the pattern: Mesh Skull Cap. You have to scroll down a little. The third one I made went to my sister so I have no picture of it. And the first two, well, I didn't even finish making them. I just trashed them. So now I will package them up and get them ready to go. But first I have to make a toy to go with it. I might make something else to go with it, I'm not sure yet though. All of the finished items will go to a little girl that was recently diagnosed with Leukemia.

I love that mesh hat and your son is a good sport. A willing model is hard to find.
I learned the importance of gauge when I made my first baby hat. Funny how a little thing like hook size can change everything!
