A Doll I'm Making

I have been working hard on making a doll for my son. This isn't just any doll though! It is going to be a famous person. I am not going to tell who it is yet. At least not until I get the hair and cloths on it. It is a person that we took my person to see in concert. So I guess that's a small hint. Now you know that it's a musician. I got a small patch of hair on it yesterday. But I ran out of the yarn I was using. So now I have to go get some more. It's taking me a long time to make! I had to redo the head several times. I was trying to figure out a way to put the nose on with out having to sew it on. But no matter what I did, it just wouldn't come out right!!! So I finally just left it off. Then when I got to the legs I had to redo the foot several times, trying to get the right shape to it. I finally got it though. Then I used the arms from another pattern I had. I didn't want to go through trying to make up the hands. I feared it would take WAY to long. Given the amount of time it took me to get the rest of the body done. Then I added the nose. I had to make it up too. I was surprised though! I only had to do it once! I got it right the first time! Yea!!! The hair is some thing else though! I just don't know how I'm going to get it right. I don't want it to be to thick. So I am having to work at it. I put it on then take it off, because it doesn't look right. My son better really like this one! And take care of it! It sure is taking a lot of work!
Well here are some pics of the beginning of it. I still need to add the eyes, cloths, shoes, hair, (and I am thinking a beard but I'm not sure if it will work) and a few extras as well. I ordered some cloths on line. The doll wears newborn size clothing. Not to be confused with 0-3 month size! New born is for 5 to 8 pounds. So I had to find jeans and a a black shirt. Which reminds me, I still need to find a newborn size or preemie size black t-shirt! I don't know how I'm going to do that. Everything for babies has some sort of baby applique on it. I need some thing plain. Well wish me luck!

Sorry, I don't have a pattern for it. I just made it up as I went. I used the basic info from the Care Bears pattern though. If you need a pattern you might check out the free pattern sights.
